Double Coated Dogs
As of January 1, 2018 we will NO LONGER BE SHAVING dogs with double coats unless it is truly the only option.
**Any current clients who have previously discussed their dogs haircut with the groomer prior to January 1st, 2018 will continue to receive the same haircut**
Aside from destroying coat integrity, shaved dogs are susceptible to a multitude of complications, including, but not limited to, alopecia, heat stroke and skin cancer, specifically Solar-induced Squamous Cell Carcinomas and Dermal Hemangiosarcomas.

Fleas, Ticks and Parasites
All pets are expected to be free from any parasites (fleas, ticks, lice etc.) prior to coming to their appointment. It is the owners responsibility to ensure their dog(s) are up to date on all required vaccines and that you follow your veterinarians recommendations for parasite prevention and control.
With all appointments we require proof of up-to-date vaccinations against Rabies and DHPPC (Bordetella, Parvo, Distemper). We work hard to keep our shop exceptionally clean, when taking your dog anywhere that other dogs frequent (dog parks, vets, daycare, walks, grooming salons etc.) there is always the chance that a dog may come in unknowingly carrying parasites.
Any dog(s) found with parasites will be sent home and the owner will be charged for any work done on their dog, as well as a Clean Up Fee to cover the cost of replacing our vacuum filters and cleaning products used. Phone calls will also be made to the owners of any dog(s) that came into contact with the infested dog(s). We highly recommend that any pet found with parasites be taken, at the owner’s expense, to the dog(s) regular veterinarian for proper treatment.
Injured Dog
If you have requested that your dog be groomed despite his/her pre-existing injury and understand the risks associated with having your dog groomed , Wagsmore Grooming can not be found liable in the event that your dog’s condition worsens due to the grooming process.
While all reasonable care and precautions shall be taken, if a Wagsmore Grooming staff member deems it necessary to obtain veterinary care, we reserve the right to seek medical care from Sherwood Veterinary Clinic. The client is financially responsible for any and all medical treatment their dog receives as a result of a medical emergency while attending Wagsmore Grooming.
We also require a signed letter from your vet, dated 2 day prior to your groom stating that your vet has granted permission to get your dog groomed.
